Fusion Cycling Club – Run Information

Club Rides take place each Sunday with some mid-week rides

So that everybody can enjoy a ride, we organise three group rides to accommodate everybody`s ability and experience. Blue group, Red group and Black group.

All three groups meet and start their rides from Dronfield Sports & Social Club off Carr Lane Dronfield. Blue Group also meet other members of their group at the bench at the top of Cowley Lane in Holmesfield when heading out into The Peaks. If we’re riding out east we meet at The Chequers in Coal Aston

The Black group ride average speed ranges between 15mph to 17mph in the winter and 16mph to 18mph when the sun is shining in the summer. This group enjoy pushing themselves, sharing the workload, finding new routes and re-grouping at key points of the ride.  The aim is to be back in Dronfield by 12.30pm and then go their own way home. The Red group ride averages 13mph and is for those wanting a steadier ride but still pushes the group on some sections. However, they are still very social and always ride as a group. Good for those not ready for Black group or wanting to go a bit faster than Blue group. This group also looks to organise some longer rides and gravel rides. Once they completed a Night Ride to Mablethorpe!

The Blue group ride sees recreation and leisure as a top priority.  Great conversation is had whilst enjoying the scenery and ensuring the group stay together.  The group meets at the Dronfield Sports & Social Club (DS&SC) off Carr Lane but also picks up riders at the bench in Holmesfield at the top of Cowley lane. The aim for this group is to be back in Dronfield for 12pm.

During the winter months the groups set off at 8:30pm. In Summer this is 8am with the change following the change of the clocks to/from summer time. Blue group meet at 8:15am at the bench in Holmesfield.

Christmas Club Ride

Every year we organise a Christmas fun ride where we decorate our bikes (and ourselves!) and have an easy ride into The Peaks. We normally head out into The Peaks with the obligatory tinsel for the bike and optional fancy dress for the rider!  Please contact Peter White for more details.
